Privacy: Hannovae models sign-up
Version 2026-10-19. This covers the "turning my followers into models" series on Instagram (@danlhw), run by Hannovae (hannovae.com).
The short version
You comment on a reel, and our messaging tool ManyChat sends you a link by Instagram message. You send us a picture so we can show it in a reel. We check it's safe to post. We keep it only as long as we need it, and you can delete everything at any time.
What we collect
- Your Instagram username, and the contact number ManyChat uses for you. ManyChat sends them to us when you comment and tap "I'm in", so we can make your personal link.
- Only if we message you ourselves instead of through ManyChat: the account id Instagram gives us, and your Instagram profile picture, name, follower count and whether you follow us. We read these through Instagram's official API, only after you message us or tap "I'm in" (and once more that day if your upload doesn't match the picture, in case you just changed it).
- The picture you upload on the sign-up page.
- Your answers to the two boxes (18 or older, and your agreement), the date, and which version of this notice you saw.
- A scrambled code made from your IP address, only to stop abuse. We don't keep the IP address itself.
- The results of the checks on your picture.
We never ask for your Instagram password. The page uses no cookies, ads or trackers.
Why
- To make a link that only works for your username, sent only to you, so nobody can sign someone else up. When we have your Instagram profile picture, we also check your upload matches it.
- To check the picture is safe to post (no explicit content, violence, hate symbols, offensive text, other brands' logos or anyone under 18).
- To show you in a reel on @danlhw: your picture appears as a sticker on one of our models wearing a Hannovae jacket, with your @username on screen and tagged in the caption. A reel may also be shared as a trial reel, which Instagram shows to people who don't follow @danlhw yet.
We do this because you agreed to it. You can take that back at any time (see below).
Who sees it
Daniel and the Hannovae team. Your picture and @username become public once your reel is posted on Instagram. To run this we use a few service providers, who only process it for us:
- Supabase (database and private picture storage, in London).
- Vercel (the website, and making the videos).
- WaveSpeed AI, which runs the automatic checks with AI vision models (such as Google Gemini and OpenAI). Your picture is sent to them for the check.
- ManyChat, the tool that answers comments on @danlhw and sends you the Instagram message with your link. It processes your Instagram username and your messages with us.
- Meta (Instagram), where the reel is posted and through which our messages to you are sent.
We never sell your data or use it for ads.
How long we keep it
- While you're waiting in line, we keep your pictures so we can make your video.
- We delete your pictures 30 days after your reel is posted, or 30 days after a picture doesn't pass the check.
- Pictures that look explicit or seem to show someone under 18 are deleted straight away.
- If you remove yourself, your pictures are deleted at once. We keep only your username and the date for 30 days, so we don't invite you again by mistake.
A posted reel stays on Instagram unless you ask us to take it down.
How to delete your data
- Open your sign-up link (from our Instagram message) and tap "Remove me" at the bottom. Your pictures are deleted straight away.
- Or send "DELETE" to @danlhw in an Instagram message, and we'll delete everything we hold about you, including your contact in ManyChat.
- Already in a posted reel? Tell us in that message, and we'll take the reel down.
You can also ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it, the same way.
Age
You must be 18 or older to sign up. If a picture seems to show someone under 18, we turn it down and delete it.
